The landlocked country Zimbabwe is not an easy-going place to earn and survive in The African Continent. The Zimbabweans are a warm nation and are rich with hospitality. The capital city of Zimbabwe is Harare, foreigners prefer to settle down in this city due to its enormity and importance. With seventy-two per cent of people living under the poverty line, Zimbabwe is still a middle-class and developing country. 

Workig Hour 

The nation of Zimbabwe is struggling continuously to have the basic necessities of life. The job opportunities are narrow and most available jobs are underpaid. People of Zimbabwe work 8 to 9 hours a day, approximately 48 to 55 hours a week still they are unable to make both ends meet. As per the survey, people were content with their salaries before but the last five years have been hard for them to survive on the same salary. Inflation has increased from 11% in 2018 to 255% in 2019 and surged to a shocking 588% in 2020. Right now it has already increased by 190% in the first quarter of the year 2022. Inflation has increased worldwide but the countries that were already surviving have hit sky heights of inflation.

Criminal Activities 

 The shortage of food, energy, trade and other commodities due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine played a significant role in this staggering per cent of Inflation. An increase in street crimes has been recorded in the last 2 years because of a lack of jobs and food availability. Theft at gun points at night, snatching cell phones and jewellery with tricks in broad daylight, and pickpocketing in crowded areas have become more common in Zimbabwe. Despite being a developing country, Zimbabwe has the latest financial system running in the country. They own stock exchanges which rely on their mining, tourism and agrarian industries.

GDP

 The Gross Domestic Product will be at 23.50 USD Billion at the end of the year 2022. The work life of an individual in Zimbabwe is affected a lot by the factors contributing to the country's economy. The average required money for an individual to live in Zimbabwe typically for a month is around 600$ to 650$. It includes utility bills, food and clothing. Rent is not included. The average living cost in Zimbabwe is 40% to 45% lower compared to the United States. Few more factors contribute to the work life of an individual living in Zimbabwe other than those mentioned above.
 

Language Barrier 

Language is an important part of daily life and if it is an alien language it becomes the biggest hurdle for most foreign individuals to communicate, living in Zimbabwe. Zimbabweans use 16 languages to communicate. The primary language is Shona which is used by  70% of the population of Zimbabwe to communicate. The second most used language is Ndebele, generally spoken by the rest 20% of the population. The English language is only utilized in governmental offices, businesses and schools. Assuming that if the communication hindrance is there the work-life relationship with other people doesn't function properly.

The Zimbabweans have agreed to accept the rapidly changing world and are now adopting western living standards. After the Covid-19 pandemic, a lot has changed in Zimbabwe. This change has shaken the Zimbabweans. People have learned to work from home. They learned to live without making physical contact with each other. Many people faced trouble by showing resistance to change in their work life in jobs.

Refusing to accept automation and technology is one of the factors that contribute to the work life of people living in Zimbabwe. These Luddites fear making mistakes or maybe they are concerned if their fraudulent acts would be visible by automation. Whereas many organizations in Zimbabwe have adapted to this change and are working efficiently so far.

The working environment culture influences the work life of every individual. Skin colour supremacy prevails in every place where people from two ethnicities work together. It is required to overcome these issues to improve the workplace environment. Many organizations are assisting with their services to protect people who came to work from other countries in Zimbabwe. It has helped to change the vision of people working in the country. A positive outcome has been witnessed in the last few years.
 

Rewarding System 

Lack of job satisfaction and lack of reward system disturbs the balance between the employee's work life and personal life. The rewards are the reason for an individual to show passion for work. Rewarding systems work as milestones in the life of an employee. The dissatisfaction at work always results in low productivity of employees. The limited salaries in this era of inflation are not enough to survive, bonuses and perks keep the employees motivated and they work better.
